We have been personally encouraging two groups of women in two communities
and are seeing awesome changes in their lives. We 
have
begun programmes that deal with a women's heart and soul, self worth, and
purpose. This creates an environment where God can bring restoration and
healing to women whose lives are broken and in turmoil. There is much pain
and brokenness in these women. As we are able to create safe environments
that encourage intimacy with their Heavenly Daddy, He brings an atmosphere
of healing. To explore women-hood and femineity (1 Pet 3:3-4), the incorruptible
beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight
of God. By impacting a women, we are impacting a child, a youth, a husband,
a household.
Although we are in Australia there is an element of culture shock. The Aboriginal
people are still speaking there native tongue, 'Kriol' and English, and
are currently living in 3rd world conditions. The statistics are shocking;
acute rheumatic fever, infant-mortality rates 
are
three times higher then white Australians - wide spread malnutrition, anaemia
and scabies all the result of there terrible poverty. There is trachoma
preventable blindness as well as hearing loss from middle ear infections
in 80% of children and Indigenous adults die young from preventable diseases.
The average life expectancy for men is sadly age 46. Lice, scabies, boils,
and some diseases are very evident in the lives of the Aboriginal people
due to lack of knowledge, nutrition and self hygiene.
There a great need for Jesus, knowledge and love for the lives of the Aboriginal
people. We know as women we have great influence and that's why we are encouraging
these women to be all they can be - awesome women of the most high God with
positive influence in there family, house hold and community!
